Sounds awesome and a good challenge for you guys! Sure thing. I’m assuming you’ve got all the consents and a handle on those costs sorted.

We had some preparatory groundworks done first to do a general clear out, then cut out the garage area. Along with taking the spoil offsite. In total, I’d say $15,000 + GST for this (incl labour)

Then for the piles themselves. We used a great company called Ground & Pound who supplied all the materials (poles), labour and machinery to then drive around 50 piles into place. We also had a lot of piles for retaining walls and a floating concrete slab for our driveway. Total cost for all of this was $17,000 + GST and that included a lot of messing around when the land got incredibly boggy and couldn’t work for a week or so. I’d definitely recommend you contact them, they were great. Dan is the owner.

Time wise, it’s very fast. You could maybe get it all done in a week (earthworks and piles) if you had your scheduling bang on and had max 2 days of earthworks. Then a day of test piles (so geo-tech can observe) then 2 days to drive them all properly. But two weeks would be a safe bet given weather and other things they find on site once works begin.

This would get you to the point where your builders come in and begin laying the subfloor – bearers etc.

We have similar very difficult section in the North Shore and do need some real estimation for foundation costs and terms for foundation construction. Would you, please, share the total costs for piles foundation (labor and materials) and how long did it take.
