Our Build

Loving The View

We got back to Auckland this week after a couple of weeks holiday in Matarangi. And there had been lots of progress when we dropped by the section on the way home. All the internal wall framing was up in the bedroom pod, defining every room’s dimensions.

When we walked into our master suite, we were treated to the unobstructed views from our bedroom for the first time. The builders had removed all the temporary supports in the room and had tacked our huge Rylock windows into place, perfectly framing the outlook. It was so incredible it’s hard to put into words.

We stood there speechless as we absorbed the 180-degree, floor-to-ceiling bush views. The lush tree ferns were illuminated by the late afternoon sun, the giant kanuka trees towered above us and the tui flitted between branches. We had to pinch ourselves that this will be ours to wake up to every morning. EVERY SINGLE MORNING!

It took us back to the first day we set foot on the section more than 12 months ago. On that day, we stood among the bush and envisioned exactly what we were looking at – a tree-filled bedroom and an entire home embracing the natural assets of the property. Such a satisfying feeling to see it all coming to life.

The stunning view from our bedroom.

The stunning view from our bedroom. Just love the absolute full height windows wrapping right around two full walls of our room. On the left wall, the Eurostacker, level step sliding door still needs to be fitted. It opens out onto our wee deck which will lead into the bush. Want to jump into bed in here right now!

In our hallway. You can see where the skylight will be which will flood the whole pod with natural light.

How cool is that view from our shower?! Can't wait to shower in here!

Looking back into our bedroom. You can kind of make out the en suite and walk in wardrobe through the framing.

Another view through our master bedroom. Our bed will be in the centre of that framed wall you can see. Then behind it is our en suite and walk in wardrobe.

A really wide shot down the hallway. From front to back we have our bathroom, laundry, bedroom 3, bedroom 2 and then our master suite right at the end. I love those narrow windows from Rylock along the side
