Ray & Garrick got onto the section the day after we found out we had our building consent and got straight into profiling up our house – basically mapping out exactly where the house will go, including the finished floor heights.

We headed down after work to check out what they had been up to and it was so awesome to see a ‘structure’ on the section for the first time. Suddenly everything seemed brilliantly real, especially when we could climb up a ladder and stand at the floor height of our kitchen/dining area. The view into the bush and down to the stream was ten times better than we’d been imaging. So exciting!

So exciting to get our Building Consent this week Such great news and our builders are ready to start next week. Can’t wait to see our house finally emerge from the ground

What a stunning day it was today – feels like summer is finally here – perfect weather for doing some more work on the section. We’d run out of supplies so headed up the motorway and grabbed another load of rocks and pungas from Central Landscape And Garden Supplies in Silverdale. We can’t recommend this place more highly. Dean and the guys up there are awesome and they stock pretty much anything you’d ever need for your garden, lawn and yards. Or streams!

 

 

We both love Scandinavian style, so that means we’ll have lots of pale timbers, natural finishes, raw concrete and soft colours throughout the inside of our house. We’ve changed our minds on some of the furnishings since this 3D model was done, but it’s pretty close to how we hope the finished room will be. But with full height doors out to the deck.

As we start to finish the inside of our home we’ll begin to share each room with you. What we’ve done along with the materials, colours and furniture we’ve used. I’m not sure about you, but we can’t wait!
