Matt and the EAV team were back in to pre-wire our living pod yesterday. We love these guys. They’re so awesome at their profession and have given us so much advice and direction when it comes to all things electrical, automation, security and AV. We can’t recommend them highly enough.
But they’re also good buggers. They spent till well after midnight wiring up the pod, just to squeeze our job in and keep the schedule running on time. As a small way of thanking them, Kylie and I bought pizzas and beers for dinner, and joined them for our first dinner party in the living pod! Thanks guys, you rock.

Our lighting plans drawn up by Matt at EAV. The red lines show we haven’t changed our minds too much!

Matt getting his measurements right. It’s a funny stage in a build, as we need to decide exactly where everything goes, right down to sofas and entertainment units, even though it’s still very much a construction site. But the up-shot is everything is tailored exactly to our way of life and furnishings, allowing plugs and cables to be hidden away. FYI – that’s not the size of our TV, we’re recessing a moveable bracket into the wall so the telly looks like it’s stuck flat to the wall, and it also allows us to change the size of our TV in the future.

Matt setting up all of our entertainment needs, including a full surround sound audio system that has multi zone functionality, meaning I could be on the roof top deck listening to the cricket commentary while Kylie is downstairs watching TV.

The SIPs panels require a little bit more work for the guys to wire them all up, but they come with pre-cut chases at plug and switch height, as well as vertical ones running the length of each panel. As a side note, the entire end wall in the living pod is a Eurostaker door from Fletcher Window & Door Systems. It will literally slide completely away, opening the living area out onto a large deck and the bush beyond. Yummo!
